CUSTOM DOMAIN

Using a custom domain

If you don’t want to use the default domain provided by DCDial for payments you send, you can easily replace it with your own custom URL. Instead of directing clients to http://pay.dcdial.com/uniqueID, you can send them to http://pay.example.com. Read on to see how you can get started right away!

Step 1 - Configure your domain

  1. Login to your domain service provider.
  2. Locate your DNS settings. There, enter the subdomain you wish to use as the Name. For example, if you want to use pay.example.com, then enter ‘pay’ as the name.
  3. Create a new CNAME to point to pay.dcdial.com. The CNAME will be the new domain URL that should be displayed. For example, to use https://pay.example.com, then enter 'pay' as the name. Make sure no other records conflict with the new record created.
  4. Then enter pay.dcdial.com as the corresponding Value to your CNAME (some DNS interfaces may label it as Host Name, Fully-Qualified Domain, or Data).

Note: The DNS must point at DCDial and cannot proxy through a third party. If you are using Cloudflare, ensure that the DNS record is set as DNS Only. Changes to the DNS records may take up to 72 hours to propagate.

  • Step 2 - Reach out to DCDial

Reach out to your Account Manager or DCDial Support with your newly created CNAME. DCDial will configure the domain in the database and then notify you once it is set up.
